Thanks for sharing the info though. This is helpful. Do the fleet managers go by different titles?
Has GM attempted to penalize you for “breaking the code of silence”?

Apparently everything is about money for this car salesman! I made good money as a GM but not everything is about money. I grew a conscious and got out of the business. Now I am helping thousands save thousands. I sleep better at night!

Hahahaha… Are you serious?? So how is making a profit on a vehicle worse than preying on the insecurities of others and instilling in them a false sense of fear of the big bad car dealership? Any reasonably intelligent person can find out what invoice on a car is. The trick is getting the dealer to sell it for that. The truth of the matter is that this guy was never a GM anywhere! How do I know? Because GM’s get PAID!! They don’t sell their “secrets” for $29 to save you $5,000.

I’m not one of the bad ones. My manager hated me and often asks me if I am working for him…or the customers.
If I didn’t hit my targets every month, I would have been fired ages ago.

Ok well “MY” Fleet manager will not do it. I won’t quote prices over the internet, or by phone.
I treat every customer that steps on the lot equally. Man, Woman, Young, Old, Black, White…doesn’t matter to me.
I don’t hold back rebates and I don’t insert rebates to make trade numbers look better to the customer. Being straight and honest costs me 2-3 deals a month to competition. But in the long term, I will have alot more repeat business.

Another lie from a car salesman. Fleet managers want your business. I have many, many customers who attest to that fact. Read their testimonies on the website! Fleet managers do most of thier business over the phone and email!

Really nothing here that any good salesman can’t overcome. Most Fleet Managers won’t even waste their time with individual bids.
Most good sales people won’t even waste their time quoting numbers over the phone or on the internet. If you want numbers, you have to come down and get them, plain and simple.
And yes, the mark up on the back end products offered to you in the F&I office are way too high. But those guys are paid no salary and work 100% on commission.

Nothing wrong with sending visitors to affiliate link to click on as long as the content of the site are good information. The very fact that you made this video is that you want people to click on your link to purchase your product, should general public blame you for that? Being a car guy, you should respect the industry and your visitors. Somehow I get a feeling that you put all dealership down so that will make yourself on the top, is this approach really working for you?
Take care!!

I worked in e-marketing for various dealerships over the last 4 years… This guy is legit. He touched on a lot of the stuff I learned over the years after talking to GM’s and Fleet Managers. Nice video, good info.

Its true, its not. But ‘lying’ and ‘fraud’ are. When I went into the dealer, I knew how much the dealership got the car for (including special incentives and all). I tacked on a little over 5% profit, which I thought was fair. We agreed on a deal. Then, when I went to signed the contract, I noticed they changed the contract, and hoped I wouldn’t notice! They tacked on an extra 500$ over what we agreed on. This is while salesman get such a hard time. Because of the way they conduct themselves!

Your right “profit:” is not a dirty word. But the words “ripped off” are. I suggest you find a new career path you can be proud of and make money in without ripping people off.

Wow. This is why new salesmen only last about 90 days in the auto industry.
I will say this one more time. PROFIT IS NOT A DIRTY WORD! You want the salesman to make as least amount of money as possible, so you think you can get a good deal? You are such a mooch.
The average car salesman across america sales about 8 cars a month. If we only got paid a minimum commision, which in most dealerships is $150, that would only be $1,200 a month. I have four kids and a wife to provide for.

The Japanese manufacturers (I’ve read) pay $16 hr here in the US for assemblers. So their employees probably would have a difficult time affording the very autos they produce. The UAW will need to make concessions to compete. Our quality of life is eroding as the rest of the world improves. The global economy has us on the road to global equality. Good for them, bad for us. But what this has to do with a persons choice of dealers, I have no idea.

Well sometimes I’m the lowest price, sometimes I’m a couple $100 higher. If another dealer has had a specific car in stock for 120 days or more, they might just break out of it where I would need to make a little profit. If they still decide to buy from me, I take care of my customers, always free loaner cars in service, if they have other cars at home, free loaners when those are serviced too, I’ve driven to their homes, gave them a car to go to work and I wait for the tow, worth $200, maybe?

And we wonder why the auto industry needs a bailout with advice like, “a couple $100 is worth staying local to start a relationship with the service dept.”
Why on earth should people have to pay extra to buy local? Shouldn’t locals be getting a better deal?
And if the whole car buying process is as easy as he says why are they bankrupt?
The real scam is the auto industry and UAW ripping off the American people making us pay for your mistakes and greed!

The fleet manager is a salesman. I’m a fleet mngr. Ask me for a bid I’ll quote you my best price, as will any salesperson on my floor. Shop % rates before hand, call a few dealers with a VIN#, if you have a trade, it should be taken to the dealers you are considering. The lowest $ you trade for is the deal. a couple $100 is worth staying local to start a relationship with the service dept. It’s no more complicated than that. Don’t spend $ on a scam saying they’ll save you from a scam.
